We Are Hiring: -Critical Care Tech / CNA - ICU- ProHealth- Waukesha Memorial- .9 FTE- Nights - -Waukesha Memorial Hospital's Intensive Care Unit is a 24 bed, multi-specialty unit including cardiovascular, neuro-surgical, medical respiratory, sepsis, drug overdoses, suicide attempts, a variety of other surgical, and trauma. This team works with adult and some pediatric patients. -The ICU intensive care unit at Waukesha Memorial Hospital has earned a silver-level Beacon Award for Excellence from the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN). The award recognizes unit caregivers for successfully improving patient outcomes and aligning unit practices with AACN standards. Units that receive this three-year award meet national criteria consistent with other national quality awards, such as the National Quality Healthcare Award. Waukesha Memorial is one of only two hospitals in Wisconsin to earn the silver-level Beacon award. (2013). -Schedule Details: This .9 FTE commits to 36 hours per week on the night (NOC) shift. Required to work every other weekend and alternating holidays.This is not a seasonal or temporary position. -What You Will Do:The Critical Care Technician provides care to patients in a high-acuity, Intensive Care Unit. Provide quality nursing care to patients; implement specific procedures and programs; coordinate patient care within the department, as well as with other departments. -Other Responsibilities Include: - Assist the RN or Physician with special procedures such as DMR care, Emptying drains, suctions of chest tubes
- Set up sterile field and assist physicians with line placements and chest tube insertions
- Phlebotomy - drawing blood from arterial lines as delegated
- Assists patients with activities of daily living (i.e., dressing, toileting, positioning and nourishment)
- Discontinue arterial lines, sheaths, Foley catheters, and I.V's
- Insertion of peripheral IV's and Foley Catheters
