The Field Support Technician is responsible for the professional installation and commissioning of Trimble 2D and 3D machine control systems and telematics on all machine types. The Field Support Technician is responsible for delivering quality technical assistance in a timely manner. Customer satisfaction is the key component of the Field Support Technician's success.Responsibilities:Primary resource in providing on machine installation, repair, and maintenance on construction. Heavy Civil Construction technology at the customer's site or shop setting.Provides on-site troubleshooting as requested by the sales and technical support organizationsEnsures that installation and other work necessary is completed on time.Documents and reports field activities as well as being pro-active in creating process improvementsEnsures the operational quality of the system by documenting post-installation testsDrives revenue based upon performance of services for construction machine customers#IND123Requirements:Qualifications:Education:Two year college or vocational degree in hydraulic or mechanical engineering or equivalent.Experience:Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot hydraulic and electrical issues on heavy equipment machines.Familiarity with construction site operations using heavy equipment machine controlled systems isdesired.Experience in Arc welding is necessaryOperation of heavy construction equipment a plusKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of machine control productsFamiliarity with heavy equipment and hydraulic systems requiredAble to follow both routine and advanced procedures and to think analytically.Ability to plan and organize work with minimal supervisionDemonstrates sound business judgment and decision making skills.Excellent verbal, written and problem solving skillsExperience working in a team environmentMust have a basic understanding of using a PC including Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel and Power PointPhysical Requirements:In addition to being able to sit, stand, walk, read, talk, write and hear, to perform the essential functions of this job an individual must be able to do the following additional activities: Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
