The Department of Corrections is currently recruiting to fill a 75% Hemodialysis Technician position. This position is based out of Fox Lake Correctional Institution (Fox Lake, Dodge County) .

    Part-time employees will receive some of the benefits listed above on a prorated basis. Candidates hired into positions that are less than 60% of a full-time position may not be eligible for all benefits.

    Position Summary

    This position is responsible for assisting in the dialysis care provided to patients in the Dodge & Fox Lake Correctional Hemodialysis Units under the direct supervision of a Nurse Clinician.

    Primary duties include providing direct patient care to patients in the Hemodialysis Unit, preparation of dialysis solutions, and maintenance of dialysis equipment and supplies, as well as performing other technical tasks to assist with the functioning of the dialysis unit.

    Salary Information

    This position is in pay schedule and range 06-13 with a starting pay rate of $22.86/hour.

    Pay rates on appointment for current state employees may vary according to the applicable pay transaction provisions of the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code.

    A twelve-month probationary period is required.

    Shift: Monday, Wednesday, Friday 4:30 AM - 3:00 PM with occasional flexibility

    Remote work options not available for these positions.

    Job Details

    Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application.

    The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting. The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.

    Qualifications

    Minimally qualified applicants will have:

    Experience providing direct care to patients in a Hemodialysis unit as a Hemodialysis Technician.

    Experience using dialysis equipment, performing water room procedures, and preparing dialysis solutions.

    Experience responding to dialysis related emergencies under the direction of an RN.

    Special Qualifications: Must maintain CPR (Cardiopulmonary resuscitation) certification and have the ability to perform CPR and/or first aid to prevent loss of life and relieve suffering until appropriate care arrives.
