Works under direction of a physician or other qualified health care provider to provide musculoskeletal evaluations and rehabilitative treatment to patients who have been referred for physical therapy.Oversees and is responsible for all patient care related activities including supervision of paraprofessionals and non-skilled staff and the coordination of patients care and treatment with the referring physician and other allied health care providers.Maintains patient recordsSupervises paraprofessional and support staffProvides for patient safetyPromotes and provides educationCommunicates with members of the rehab staff and maintains recordsAnswers and directs callsDemonstrates interest in department's and self-improvementdemonstrates understanding of role in healthcare teamApplies knowledge of age-related factors appropriately to patients, utilizing appropriate policies and proceduresReports to: Director of Physical TherapyMinimum EducationGraduate of a Program in Discipline - RequiredGraduate from a school of Physical Therapy with a degree in Physical Therapy, preferably at a Master's or Doctorate Level.Required SkillsRequires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
