- Facilitate opportunities for spiritual growth in students
- Function as an essential member of the student support team to coordinate and plan for individual student needs and the creation of student support plans.
- Provide brief counseling with students at all levels based on parent, staff, or student requests.
- Provide referrals to families to outside counselors or psychologists for appropriate counseling or care as needed.
- Maintain a positive relationship with surrounding school district representatives and consult as necessary
- Oversee and facilitate small groups for students with identified, common needs.
- Provide parent education opportunities throughout the year and parent support as needed
- Consult with parents, teachers, and students regularly to address academic, personal, social and career issues.
- Designs and implements a social-emotional curriculum that supports the advisory program
- Provide professional development training for teachers and staff related to pertinent social/emotional issues, self-harm, suicide ideation/intent, and other related topics as needed.
- Participate in, coordinate, and conduct activities that contribute to the effective implementation of the junior high/high school component of the K-12 guidance curriculum. REQUIREMENTS:
