To learn more: www.sony.com/en. Position Summary Sony is seeking a Data Scientist, Risk Analytics to join Sony's Corporate Information Security Division. This position will report to the Senior Manager of Risk Analytics and be a part of the team responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining a Global Information Security Risk Analytics platform used to provide information security risk intelligence to Senior Leadership and monitor the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Sony assets. You'll work across the global information security team to understand the unique problems and constraints, then dig into the data-rich environment to find the pieces of the puzzle. You'll write scripts, build predictive analytics, automate processes, apply machine learning techniques, and use the right combination of tools and frameworks to turn that set of disparate data points into objective answers to help leadership make informed decisions. Job Responsibilities - Develop a comprehensive knowledge of the business to derive data science project requirements.
- Gather information, business goals, priorities, and organizational context around the questions to answer.
- Provide feedback to translate and refine business questions into tractable analysis, evaluation metrics, or mathematical models.
- Design and evaluate models to mathematically express and solve defined problems with limited precedent.
- Format, re-structure, and/or validate data to ensure quality, and review the dataset to ensure it is ready for analysis.
- Analyze large amounts of data/information to discover and articulate trends and patterns.
- Build predictive models and machine-learning algorithms.
- Develop conclusive insights using statistical methods.
- Make and defend arguments using data and data-based insight.
- Explain solutions in a non-technical manner.
- Mentor other team members. QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION
Your qualifications and experience should include: - A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required, with a preference for candidates who have a degree in Statistics, Data Analysis, or Mathematics.
- Minimum 3 years of applied work experience in data science.
- Hands-on experience analyzing and mining large datasets.
- Proficiency with relational database (SQL), programming/scripting (Python or R), and statistics.
- Good experience with applied statistics skills, such as distributions, statistical testing, regression, etc.
- Knowledge of machine learning
- Ability to tackle ambiguous and undefined problems.
- Motivated and self-directed, demonstrated ability to innovate.
- Ability to communicate and discuss complex topics with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience in information security or IT preferred.
- Experience with data engineering.
- Experience with data visualization tool and dashboard development.
