The College enrolls more than 1,900 undergraduate and 1,300 graduate students in its nationally-recognized offerings. CPH Development provides strategic, active management of the fundraising efforts that support the College and student, faculty, and staff success. About the Position: The Development Operations Manager will support the development office's day-to-day activities and provide administrative support to the Sr. Director of Development. The Manager will oversee special events that include alumni engagement activities, educational panels, and donor cultivation events. The Manager will oversee the donor stewardship process, including correspondence, gift processing, and documentation, maintaining and updating donor activities in the PatriotForce database, and reporting and tracking using Microstrategy. The Development Operations Manager manages all development aspects of the CPH student scholarship program and coordinate with CPH's Finance and Office of Student Affairs to assist with donor communications and related activities to the scholarship program. This position is expected to work some evening and weekend hours for events. Responsibilities: Development Activities: Provide administrative support to the Sr. Director of Development; Coordinate with development staff and faculty on alumni engagement events & projects and college activities; Perform and coordinate department financial reporting & reconciliations; Act as the first point of contact for the development department and handle inquiries & questions; Ensure student scholarship programs are maintained; and Maintain the department's stewardship plan. Events & Special Projects: Interact with CPH donors, volunteers, and colleagues; Organize and implement CPH events, including but not limited to: Alumni Weekend, Networking events, educational symposiums, scholarship receptions, homecoming, and college celebrations; Produce bio profiles on key attendees and distribute to senior CPH faculty and volunteer leaders prior to events; Develop and maintain an event(s) timeline with goal targeting, benchmarks, results, and deadlines; and Utilizing Mason's Anthology software, coordinate the production of invitations, rsvp's of guest lists, and all communications with attendees prior to and following events. Stewardship: Develop an executive stewardship plan for CPH donors that includes creative and effective ways to increase engagement and support; Ensure donors and alumni are included in University-wide stewardship events; Recruit donors and student recipients to attend the University Scholarship Breakfast; and Thank all donors in a timely manner. Administrative/Communications: Assist with committee schedules & meetings, minutes/reminders; Manage financial reports for the department (P-card, reconciliation); Day-to-day office management (ie: ordering supplies, IT requests); and Coordinate with Advancement offices the distribution of development messages for, but not limited to: Alumni e-newsletter; Donor communications; Student scholarship/award recipients; Dean & faculty talking points. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree, or the equivalent combination of education and experience; Demonstrated experience developing and executing fundraising strategies; Demonstrated success in managing multiple projects at a time; Demonstrated success in planning events; Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of alumni, faculty, staff, donors, students and colleagues throughout the university; Excellent oral and written communication skills; Demonstrated interpersonal skills; Ability to take initiative and work independently; Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with appropriate discretion; and Attention to detail and follow-through; and Flexibility to work evening and weekend hours. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience working in higher education; Previous development & event experience; Experience fundraising for higher education or not for profit; and Administrative experience.
