General information All posting locations: Winchester, Virginia, United States of America Job Function: 06 - Manufacturing Date Published: 30-Apr-2024 Ref #: R-82093 Description & Requirements Kraft Heinz Company - Winchester Non-Union Hourly Job Description Job Title: Building Maintenance and Grounds Associate Reports To: Maintenance Manager Department: Maintenance Shift: Able to work any shift Job Summary/Purpose: Performs activities involved in buildings and grounds at the facility. Perform minor maintenance tasks. Perform training; qualification and re-certification for the maintenance department on forklifts and aerial lifts. Essential Responsibilities - Participate/support the RMP (Risk Management Process) and assist in the development of the system and operational standards and corrective actions.
- Assist maintenance crew as needed.
- Maintain buildings and grounds as needed including lawn care, plumbing and other areas as needed.
- Complete plant improvement projects
- Complete minor maintenance related work orders.
- Clean, 5S or organize any area as needed.
- Assist Plant Staff with issues or other projects as needed.
- Painting as needed or direct paint or contract crews as needed
- Assist Accounting Department with asset management.
- Order parts and manage schedule to maintain lighting and integrity of ceiling tiles throughout plant.
- Change light fixtures and perform basic electrical work.
- Manage any preventable Quality issue that may pertain to the roof, walls, doors or floors.
- Manage and maintain all door seals, and door integrity.
- Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
- Adheres to all safety and sanitation policies.
- Able to operate hand tools. Assemble and disassemble all plant production equipment; keeping log of all items and how they are set-up; assemble pneumatic lines (multi-colored), electrical connections and piping.
- Train and test on forklift for the purposes of moving equipment and supplies for the facility.
- Training and Safety - Provide a safe and healthful work environment for all personnel through consistent support of the company's Safety Process. Must align with and practice safety processes including, but not limited to, goal setting, hazard recognition, and elimination, administration of safety procedures and corresponding corrective action, area inspection, job skills, and compliance training, accident investigation and safety meetings.
- Able to work flexible hours; days, afternoons, midnights, overtime and weekends as necessary.
- As necessary, other duties and/or projects may be assigned.
Education and Experience - Six months experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities - Working knowledge and understand of the entire facility.
- Must have good math skills and the ability to add, subtract, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Must have the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence and memos.
- Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written; oral or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Able to operate hand tools in a safe environment.
- Must have basic construction skills
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to trouble shoot and recognize mechanical problems.
- Ability to acquire knowledge of chemicals and chemical concentrations to maintain effective sanitation.
- Ability to navigate simple computer programs.
- Ability to understand microbiological sanitation to ensure product food safety.
- Ability to perform standard sanitation operating procedures to meet USDA requirements.
- Ability to be trained and align with lockout/tagout, OSHA confined space, OSHA S.S.O.P, USDA chemical training, OSHA.
- Demonstrate reliability and good work ethics, quality work performance, attention to detail is a must, and maintain a good working relationship with all other departments.
- Able to work independently with little supervision.
- Ability to multitask and work in a team oriented fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, and organizational skills and must be detail and process oriented.
- Willingness to grow with the organization.
