Strategic Business Systems is seeking a VMware Administrator to join our team of qualified, diverse individualsThis is part of a team that ensures the customer's ability to provide mission critical intelligence and successful use of its information technology (IT) networks worldwideThis role is onsite in Alexandria, VARequired Security Clearance: Top Secret/SCI (willing to sit for CI Poly) Required Certifications:--- Required Security Environment Certification: CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent--- Required Computing Environment certification: VMware Certified Technical Associate or equivalent to start.--- Required Computing Environment certification: VMware Certified Professional or higher can obtain within 180 days of hire datePrincipal Duties and Responsibilities:--- Operate and sustain the on-going daily operational use of a VMware infrastructure including updating, testing and deploying the vSphere and vCenter product releasesThis includes identifying concerns or issues encountered during installation, testing and deployment of new software releases.--- Manage and administer physical and virtual servers, primarily Windows and Linux servers--- Support and management of server virtualization, server provisioning, physical server maintenance, security compliance and daily operations--- Manage VMware vSphere, with emphasis on automation, and enterprise storage and backup system administration, installation, and on-going maintenance experience.--- Maintain server lifecycle - provisioning, maintenance, and decommissioning of the hardware--- Maintain the virtualized server environment via configuration, implementation, management, and support activities--- Monitor the virtual server infrastructure environment's health status, service performance, and utilization--- Implement and maintain continuous compliance to information security policies and technical standards, report and remediation of non-compliances--- Maintain the security baseline compliance via configuration, implementation, and remediation activities--- Apply regular security patches and software update--- Troubleshoot, maintain integrity, and configure network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance--- Integrate new technologies into new and existing systems including the transition and migration of corporate systems--- Perform systems administration of desktop and server systems connected to local and wide area networksDesktop system management responsibilities involving account monitoring, security, Operating System (OS) installation, and other local area system administration related functions--- Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems--- Manage IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems--- Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etcsupport, administer and maintenance of enterprise data center systems comprised of both physical and virtual servers, storage, backups, monitoring and automation as well as eventually Hybrid Cloud management Desirable Skills / Experience:--- Experience with ESX OS, and VMware vCenter, and 6-8 years virtualization experience--- Design, implementation, and sustainment experience in VMware, VDI and similar environments.--- Demonstrated experience establishing, maintaining, and executing O&M processes and procedures in support of VMware, and similar environments.--- Extensive infrastructure knowledge and hands-on experience with DoD datacenters & infrastructure--- 3+ years of experience deploying and maintaining data center Infrastructure preferably within the DOD.--- 5+ years of hardware experience to include compute, network, & storage--- 2+ years of experience implementing DOD Security Controls--- Ability to provide in-depth experience in trouble-shooting IT systems--- Be able to provide detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets--- Experience working large teams of technical professionals Education Required:--- High School Diploma/GED with 8 years of related experience, or associate degree with 6 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree with 4 years of experience About SBS: Strategic Business Systems, Inc(SBS) is a National Information Technology Services company headquartered in the Washington D.CMetro areaSBS provides IT infrastructure design, integration, and operation servicesOur expertise encompasses the full spectrum of infrastructure technologies, including the latest network, server, data storage, disaster recovery, security, and Internet technologiesSecurity Requirements: The candidate selected for hire must possess an active Top Secret/SCI security clearance, per client security requirementsApplicants who do not meet the security clearance requirement will not be contacted for this positionDue to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearance requirements, US citizenship is requiredWe wish to thank all applicants for their interest and effort in applying for this position, however, only candidates selected for interviews will be contactedNo unsolicited agency referrals pleaseIf interested in learning more about this opportunity, please send your resume to .
