Position Overview Disassemble custom and/or standard product from blueprints by assembling mechanical parts, components and/or products under minimal supervision. Key Responsibilities - Fits and assembles components according to assembly blueprints, manuals, engineering memos, sketches and knowledge of machine construction to construct and rebuild equipment using hand tools and power tools. Pulls parts/kit orders and prepares for delivery to paint or shipping as required.
- Verifies conformance of parts to stock lists and blueprints using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges and micrometers. Lays out hole locations and drills and taps holes on parts for assembly.
- Set up, fit, bolt and dowel in place large parts such as frames, brackets, etc.
- Positions parts and components such as motors, gear boxes, drive trains in and on frame of machine.
- Manage assembly time to ensure completion of assigned projects within specified time frame.
- Dissemble and inspect machine after testing to prepare for shipment to customer.
- Communicate internally with contacts outside the work group to exchange work related information.
- Perform activities planned by others.
- Maintain a clean and safe workplace in accordance with Rexnord policies, 5S procedures, and in line with Rexnord core values. Job Requirements
- 2 or more years of experience.
- Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent.
- Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
- Relies on some instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
- Effectively communicate and work in a team environment.
- Knowledge of various metals and of measurements used in machining processes.
- Accurately read and comprehend blue prints, work instructions, etc.
- Ability to write to record basic information
- Knowledge of and ability to compute basic arithmetic skills such as, or comparable to: add, subtract, multiply, and divide fractions and decimals.
- Ability to use a computer with clear instructions and procedures.
- Knowledge of and ability to select and adjust appropriate tools, objects or materials to attain demanding standards in different work situations.
- Knowledge and ability to solve problems that may be frequent but easy to recognize. Benefits
