Our state-of-the-art, 4 OR ambulatory surgery center is made up of compassionate team members who partner with leading orthopedic and spine surgeons to deliver high-quality, exceptional care to our patients. The Scrub Tech performs various duties as a member of the surgical team to ensure a safe and successful operative procedure. This position functions under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and directly reports to Surgical Services management. It is expected that the Scrub Tech will support system wide and surgical operations initiatives and practices. - In addition, this person will actively participate in the surgical operations safety plan as outlined. - Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: - Under the supervision of the Operating Room Manager/Administrator and at the direction of Registered Nurses, performs surgical scrubbing and assisting duties within and support of the sterile field during operative procedures.
- Assures proper care and maintenance of all surgical instrumentation and equipment while maintaining the sterile field.
- Demonstrates good knowledge of principles and practices of sterile and aseptic technique and infection control.
- Demonstrates knowledge of all equipment, instruments, procedures and supplies utilized in the operating room within the facility. -
- Physical Requirements: - Work is of medium demand, walking or standing most of the time while on duty.
- Visual and auditory acuity and manual dexterity essential to performing designated duties required.
- Manual dexterity involving the handling of equipment and instruments, or armamentarium is essential to performing assigned duties.
