Job ResponsibilitiesJob Responsibilities: - Apply electrical engineering knowledge to the investigation and development of ideas and designs for new products, and improvements to existing products, in accordance with Trijicon's Quality Operating and Product Development Systems
- Complete moderately difficult assigned tasks on-time with moderate supervision or assistance
- Confirm product performance; maintain schedule, design file database, and safe and clean working environment; control costs
- Develop improvements to existing products per customer request.
- Solve moderately complex electrical engineering problems at the component and sub-system level
- Assist in development of project objectives, schedules, and specifications
- Communicate challenges and successes effectively within the department through design reviews
- Support Project Management initiatives and meetings from Design Specification through to product launch
- Design, debug, and test basic embedded electronic systems
- Design low voltage, low current DC systems
- Perform moderately difficult digital and analog SMD PCB design, layout, and packaging of robust electronic systems
- Microcontroller system design, development, and some programming assistance
- System design for control of micro displays
- System design of LED control circuitry
- Maintain knowledge of LED technology and trends
- PWM system controls design
- Interface and collaborate with external electronic system design vendors and contract manufacturers
- Collaborate with other engineering groups and disciplines within department, as well as with other departments
- Maintain accurate documentation of concepts, designs, drawings, and processes
- Maintain current knowledge of competitive technologies related to company products and the electrical engineering discipline
- Follow written protocols and generate reports
- Contribute to the intellectual property position of the company
- Ensure products are functional, ergonomic, and aesthetically pleasing
- Ensure all ISO paperwork is complete at each project milestone
- Perform other similar tasks as assigned Job Requirements
- Ability to read and understand Engineering drawings or blueprints
- Ability to use AutoCAD 2000 or later version
- Experience with 3D CAD modeling using PTC Creo or similar
- Ability to generate and maintain Gerber files
- Proficiency with circuit design and PCB layout using Altium, Diptrace, or similar
- Analog circuit analysis proficiency using SPICE or similar
- Basic Microsoft Windows / Microsoft Office.
- Use measuring and lab equipment such as caliper, multi-meter, oscilloscope, emulators, etc.
- Detail oriented, creative thinking, problem solving and systematic diagnosis, self-motivated, excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent written communication and oral presentation skills
- Effectively interface with employees, customers, visitors, and suppliers
- Hands-on soldering and R&D prototyping build skills are beneficial
- Aptitude for integration of electrical and mechanical design
- Ability to work interdepartmentally in developing specifications, design and analysis documentation and presentations; coordinating with Marketing/Sales, Quality, and Production activities
- Electronic imaging or graphic systems development preferred
- Exposure to RTOS and DSP preferred
- Familiarity with optical systems preferred
- Visual Studio, IAR, Code Red, or similar IDE experience preferred
- Experience with C/C++, C#, VB, or similar high-level programming language
- Knowledge of embedded operating systems
- Experience with OrCAD or similar

- Three or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment or two years with an advanced technical degree preferred, or skill-set based
- Participation in at least one Small Project and one full-milestone project from inception through launch preferred - or demonstrated ability through prior experience Education:
