Major Responsibilities: - Oversee day to day refurbishing initiatives in the PED
- 1)Make regular rounds in the department, using daily rounding tool. Ensure proper documentation in care connection as rounding occurs
- 2)Provide input to PED leadership as to eqipment needs, anticipation of future needs and depreciation of equipment
- 3)Make rounds to identify areas of cleaning that are required
- A. Fiscally accountable for day to day operations
- 1)Responsible for scheduling, staffing in advocate works and payroll on a daily basis
- 2)Evaluate supply usage and adjust par levels on a quarterly basis for optimal department function and fiscal responsibility
- 3)Follow purchasing department guidelines for vendor utilization
- Represent PED as part of Leadership Team
- 1)Participate in department leadership meetings as needed
- 2)PED tech staff meeting with ED Manager/ACM/or Director
- 3)Review patient satisfaction results that reflect the PED tech contribution to the department and develop an action plans surrounding unmet goals
- 4)Participate in evaluation, disipline process for all PED technicians
- 5)Ensure organizational safety initiatives are followed by PED technicians
- C. Interview, hire and provide oreintation and educational support for PED technicians in collaboration with the nurse manager/director
- 1)Coordinate oreintation and education of PED technicians in collaboration with the department educators
- 2)Identify ongoing educational needs among the PED technicians and collaborate with the department educators/managers
- 3)Coordinate, educate and maintain all point of care testing utilized in the emergency department
- 4)Develop and hold bi-annual skills day for PED technicians
- 5)Functions as/works as an PED technician as neededEducation/Experience Required:
- Associate degree or 2 years college experience. 2-4 years experience in emergency department or pre-hospital experience.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Proficient with PC skills and knowledge of equipment within an emergency department. Good communication and customer relation skills. Good organization and math skills.
- Certified CNA, EMT-B, LPN or medical assistant.Physicial Requirements and Working Conditions:
