The Lead Power BI Developer is responsible for leading the design, development, and maintenance of Microsoft Power BI solutions. This role involves collaborating with business units to gather requirements, transforming data into actionable insights, and supporting a team of technical Power BI developers. Job Description - Develop and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and visualizations to meet the business requirements.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather reporting and data analysis requirements and translate them into effective Power BI solutions.
- Establish best practices, coding standards and data governance for Power BI development.
- Design and develop data models and data transformations in Power BI to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity.
- Perform data profiling and analysis to identify data quality issues and work with the data team to resolve them.
- Ensure the scalability and performance of Power BI solutions.
- Conduct user training sessions and provide support to end-users on the effective use of Power BI tools and features.
- Stay up to date with the latest Power BI features and updates and recommend innovative solutions to improve data visualization and reporting capabilities.
- Collaborate with data engineers, database administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure data availability and quality for Power BI solutions.
- Monitor and troubleshoot Power BI solutions to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Document technical specifications, data mappings, and solution designs for Power BI projects.
- Partner with data engineers to develop and maintain data definitions, data lineage and data cataloging using best in-class solutions.
- Functions as a task leader on large projects and/or project leader on small projects; coordinates resources, milestone schedules and related communication; responsible for delivery of an assigned scope of work
- Uses standard team/department methods and processes to complete work; assists in developing methods and processes when required
- Participates in and supports disaster recovery initiatives and change management standards and procedures; assists in developing standards and procedures when required
- Performs other duties as required/assigned by Manager
