Full Time Credentialed 1520 Stockton, San Francisco, CA, US 5 days ago Requisition ID: 2239 Salary Range: $182,880.00 To 182,880.00 Annually In partnership with the Registered Psychologist, the Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner will provide assessment, diagnosis, treatment, crisis intervention, case management for members with mild to moderate behavioral health needs; and assessment, diagnosis, crisis intervention, brief treatment, and referralof members with acute or chronic psychiatric and/or behavioral health needs.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: - Works collaboratively with the Registered Psychologist to provide patient assessment and diagnosis, formulate treatment plans, prescribe medication
- Furnish psychotropic medications and short-term therapies to treat mental health conditions in accordance with standardized procedures
- Provides patient education regarding medications, risks, benefits and reasonable outcome expectations
- Performs patient examinations, evaluations; obtains medical histories, and counsels within the limits of training and protocols. Consults with supervising physicians or other appropriate providers as necessary.
- Performs routine screening physical exams.
- Does follow-up evaluations of patients, especially those with stable and chronic conditions.
- Orders lab tests, x-rays, and other diagnostic studies
- Provides preventative care including screening and immunizations
- Provides acute care as specified in the NP-PA protocols.
- Provides health counseling.
- Monitor common health problems and refer for specialized medical treatment as needed
- Detects changes in a patient's health and change treatment plans as necessary
- Records patient information in NEMS EHR system
- Provides high quality medical services in a culturally sensitive and linguistically appropriate manner.
- Participates in the Agency's required Quality Improvement Program and activities.
- Complies with and participates in all governmental and other funding agencies' requests.
- Complies with Agency's protocols and procedures for medical services.
- Appropriately refers patients to specialists and other ancillary services as necessary.
- Ensures to meet departmental productivity expectations and quality metrics.
- Participates in monthly didactic sessions.
- Provides teaching supervision as requested.
- Participates in medical outreach programs such as health fairs, media (TV and radio programs) etc.
- Performs other job duties as required by manager/supervisor.QUALIFICATIONS:
- Masters of Science in Nursing, with a Psychiatric/Mental Health emphasis, from an accredited college or university.
- Graduate of an accredited nurse practitioner program.
- Licensed Registered Nurse in California.
- 2 years of supervised clinical experience.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively and sensitively provide care to people from diverse cultural and community backgrounds.
- Knowledge of psychological assessment tools and the effective use of these tools in assessment and treatment planning.
- DEA licensure required. -
- Current documentation of Basic Life Support is required.LANGUAGE:
