Position Details: Social Worker- Elgin, IL Location : Elgin, IL 60120 (Onsite) Project Duration : 12+ months contract Pay rate : $ 48/hr- $52/hr on W2 with limited benefits Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School-Based Social Worker to join our educational team and provide essential support to students, families, and the school community. As a School-Based Social Worker, you will work collaboratively with students, teachers, parents, and administrators to address social, emotional, and behavioral challenges that may impact students' academic success. Your expertise will help create a positive and supportive school environment that fosters students' well-being and personal growth. Responsibilities: - Conduct individual assessments of students' social and emotional needs, working closely with teachers and parents to identify challenges and strengths.
- Provide individual and group counseling to students dealing with a range of issues, such as stress, anxiety, behavioral concerns, family dynamics, and peer relationships.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and special education teams to develop intervention plans that support students' academic and social development.
- Assist in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and 504 plans for students with special needs, ensuring their unique requirements are met.
- Offer crisis intervention and immediate support to students facing emergencies, trauma, or mental health crises.
- Organize and lead workshops and seminars for students, parents, and teachers on topics related to social and emotional well-being.
- Advocate for students' rights and well-being, ensuring their needs are communicated and addressed within the school system.
- Collaborate with community organizations and agencies to connect students and families with external resources, such as counseling services, healthcare, and housing assistance.
- Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of student interactions, assessments, and progress, adhering to all privacy regulations and school policies.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student cases, share insights, and coordinate holistic support strategies.
- Provide guidance and training to teachers and staff on recognizing signs of social and emotional distress in students and implementing effective strategies for support.
- Foster a safe and inclusive school environment by promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion among students and staff.
- Collaborate with school administrators and community partners to develop and implement school-wide initiatives that promote mental health and well-being.
- Stay current with best practices, research, and developments in school social work to enhance your skills and knowledge.
