Global PharmBIO Supply Chain Leader - Elkton Maryland

About the Role: We are looking for a global broad Supply Chain Leader to join the PSD PharmBIO team to provide leadership of all relevant functions in global end to end supply chain of a regulated business. The ideal candidate will be passionate leading a diverse group of associates and functions across 3 regions, and bring deep and broad supply chain experience and skills to drive significant business growth across both mature sustained business and new high growth scale opportunities. We are seeking somebody who is energized to work in an environment where collaborating on cross-functional teams is a key to success and recognize the importance of building and maintaining strong interpersonal relationships. Ideally you have some experience in operating within a regulated quality system, such as medical device or pharmaceutical manufacturing.

This position will be located at our facility in Elkton, Maryland, with the possibility of a hybrid remote work arrangement, depending upon the responsibilities of the role and business needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver the key outcomes for the PharmBIO business through robust supply chain plans and provide effective leadership to supply chain leaders, plant leaders and shared services leaders in PharmBIO
  • Ensure end-to-end Supply Chain plan(s) align with and support PharmBIO business plans and demand customer requirements in a regulated environment
  • Design and implement supply chain plans for scaling of new platforms and corresponding products, in alignment with the business strategy and make versus buy models
  • Translate the business strategy into priorities, goals, and KPI's for supply chain teams and individuals, including Planning, Manufacturing, Procurement, Distribution, Process Engineering
  • Drive continuous improvements and lean methodology through short, mid, and longer term metrics and corresponding improvement plans and projects. Consider organizational design, associate development, value chain analysis, and integrated strategic planning in improvement plans
  • Ensure continuous on time delivery of both commercially available and sample/prototype products across all PharmBIO businesses in accordance with PharmBIO Quality system
  • Ensure development and actuality of comprehensive demand/supply and cost models that can effectively be used for existing commercial and future products. This includes all aspects of supply (i.e. raw materials, dl resources, support resources, etc.)
  • Ensure robust implementation, sustainment, and value capture from the SAP ERP, MES and PLM system implementations
  • Create an environment that engages associates and drives results
  • Champion the practice of the Gore culture and hold others accountable for achieving results in a manner consistent with Gore values
    Required Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's or advanced degree with an operation, supply chain or engineering emphasis
    • Minimum of 10 years demonstrated broad leadership experience in a manufacturing environment; broad leadership is defined as leading associates across multiple businesses, multiple disciplines, and various phases of business
    • Minimum of 10 years experience working in a variety of end to end supply chain and/or manufacturing operations roles
    • Experience with regulated Quality System Requirements
    • Experience formulating and developing new supply chain solutions to scale complex processes to improve process economics
    • Experience supporting mature commercial product manufacturing and early stage/new product development
    • Hands-on experience and demonstrated success applying lean manufacturing concepts
    • Demonstrated success in developing and executing a global supply chain strategies to improve business outcomes and meet demanding customer needs
    • Demonstrated track record of driving business results through continuous improvement
    • Effective planning, team building and organization skills
    • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop other leaders in supply chain functions
    • Ability to travel up to 20% globally

      Desired Qualifications:
      • Experience with regulated quality system in medical device or pharmaceutical/bioprocess manufacturing
      • Experience of successfully aligning and collaborating with external supply chain partners for various regulated customers
      • Proven track record of having led manufacturing scale for a rapidly growing new product with complex product requirements and multiple unit operations
      • 10+ years' experience leading other leaders and developing talent from within
      • Demonstrated expertise in driving and achieving significant process economic gains

        Hybrid Working Arrangements are permitted for Associates in the continental United States (US) and Canada, with appropriate approval and compliance with Gore's hybrid working policies, from the country in which they are employed.
