Applications will be accepted for the position of Electrician/Millwright Trainee during the above timeframe at the Human Resources office and or www.tenneco.com/careers for entry into the Skilled Trades Training Program. To be eligible for consideration for entry into this training program candidates must submit a professional resume and take written tests as well as be selected through an interview process. Each candidate, at a minimum, must score at least 50% or better on a Micrometer test, 60% or better on a Mechanical Comprehension test, 78% or better on a Blue Print Test, 63% or better on a Written Instructions test and 59% or better on a Shop Arithmetic test. Applicants who attain the minimum test scores will be further interviewed. All the candidates will be evaluated based upon test scores work experience and record, education and training. If you have tested recently, there may be no need to test again.

Electrician responsibilities will work directly with industrial control circuits, power distribution circuits, low voltage circuits as well as AC and DC motors. The qualified candidate will possess skill and experience to install and maintain all types of electrical circuits and components have a working knowledge of PLC controllers and PLC programming. The ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints is also required.

Millwright responsibilities will include familiarity with hydraulic systems, air compressor systems, boiler steam systems and vacuum systems. Additionally duties will include welding on machine parts and equipment.

The rate of pay for entry into the Training Program will be a minimum of 93% of the top rate or at a higher rate dependent upon the candidate's previous related training or experience but no greater than 95% of the top rate. Full rate for this position is currently $31.00.

The Training Program provides up to 8,000 hours of on the job training, less any initially accredited training time, with continued satisfactory performance before attaining full Electrician/Millwright status.
