Duties--- Provides safeguards for the protection of US Government physical and historical property to prevent theft and vandalism.--- Reports suspicious activity to appropriate internal and external points of contact.--- Greets visitors, conducts bag checks, operates stationary or hand help magnetometers, and x-rays, to detect prohibited items and determines their eligibility to access the facility.--- Dispatch emergency services on alarms that necessitate action.--- Writes and reads security and access control policies and procedures, and follow written and oral instructions related to access controls functions.--- Provide security updates to supervisor and leadership.--- Virtually overwatch alarm system testing to ensure systems are working properly Requirements Conditions of Employment--- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.--- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.--- Incumbent is subject to shift work to provide evening coverage, weekends, holidays, and special situations.--- Position is designated as Mission Essential and in the event of severe weather conditions or other emergency type situations (Natural or man-made disasters) the incumbent is required to report to work as scheduled to support mission operations.--- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.--- Position may require overtime to meet mission requirementsQualifications Who May Apply: Only applicants who meet one of the employment authority categories below are eligible to apply for this jobYou will be asked to identify which category or categories you meet, and to provide documents which prove you meet the category or categories you selectedSee Proof of Eligibility for an extensive list of document requirements for all employment authorities.--- 30 Percent or More Disabled Veterans
