Snr Launch Engineer Tenneco, Inc - Grass Lake, MI We are looking for a Regional Launch Engineer. The Launch Engineer supports the manufacturing organization in flawlessly launching new product. Understands and executes the Tenneco launch gate process and drives execution of deliverables, both individually and from the team. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Reviews and approves product designs for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
- Supports design reviews, ensures adequate participation from cross-functional departments and team members. Details all countermeasures for management review. Develops risk matrix and resolution for program direction.
- Supports or manages (as assigned) process creation and improvements.
- Tracks product design and process changes and highlight impacts to cost, quality, and delivery during program development.
- Assists internal and external contacts to resolve product and process problems.
- Participates in customer product development teams, reviews issues and tracks to closure.
- Justifies and creates supporting documentation for Capital Appropriation Requests (CAR).
- Monitor overall program spending to ensure budget is maintained.
- Promotes and monitors the utilization of standard process, equipment, tooling, and product.
- Implements and ensures proper handshake/hand-off of process, equipment, and tooling into the plant, utilizing Tenneco launch process.
- Develops supporting documentation / templates to report to management and proves progress of each launch gate.
- Leads meetings to track and report the progress of critical projects, identifies roadblocks to success, necessary countermeasures, and amendments to development plans.
- Monitor and track overall program activity ensuring labor, performance, and quality targets are achieved.
- Supports or manages (as assigned) the technical direction & coordination for equipment/tooling design, build, installations & start-ups.
