About the Job


Position Description
The School of Physics and Astronomy in the College of Science and Engineering at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities invites applications for a tenure-track or tenured position in Experimental Condensed Matter Physics. The appointment will be at a level (assistant, associate, or full professor) commensurate with experience.

Condensed matter physics is a major research area at the University of Minnesota that involves 18 faculty members. The department plans to further strengthen this area through several additional hires in both condensed matter experiment and theory over the next few years. The successful candidate can expect to benefit from a vibrant culture of interdisciplinary collaborations within the College of Science and Engineering, as well as from state-of the-art laboratory space, materials characterization and nanofabrication facilities.
Qualifications


Qualifications
Required:
Candidates are expected to hold a Ph.D. in physics or other related fields and should have demonstrated the potential to conduct a vigorous and significant research program as evidenced by their publication record and supporting letters from recognized leaders in the field. The ability to teach physics effectively at both the graduate and undergraduate levels is required. The candidate should be dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment, and should be committed to working well with others.
