Position Overview The Engineering Technician will perform continuity testing from point to point on Wired Houses. The technician will load software onto the house and perform operational testing. They will perform an overall quality test of the house per customers' specifications prior to shipment to the customer. When necessary the engineer will interact with both internal and external engineers as well as the customer. What your day-to-day will look like: - Follow test specifications to complete testing of manufactured products.
- Knowledge and full understanding of test equipment such as power supplies, multimeters, O-scopes, in-house test fixtures, etc.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and any other tool needed.
- Wire assemblies and sub assemblies to customer specifications using basic knowledge of blueprints and wiring schematics
- In depth understanding of quality processes and procedures and how to apply them to the work being produced.
- Demonstrate and maintain proper build techniques within a specified area.
- Display the capability to fabricate metal, glastic, lexan, and various other materials.
- Resolve discrepancies related to job with the aid of coworkers.
- 5S activities and maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and utilize all PPE.
- Knowledge of all duties will be cross functional but specific duties may be assigned.
- May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
- Train new employees and Siemens site employees on the proper build and implementation of Siemens products.
- Interpret and relay ISO and manufacturing procedures to new employees.
- Assist the Engineering groups in the updating of product drawings and BOM's.
- Full knowledge of blueprints, wiring schematics, and Bill of Material (BOM) for troubleshooting and wiring.
- Work closely with immediate Supervisor and Team Leader to resolve various issues related to their assigned areas.
- Perform ongoing audits of the process lines.
- Work both in a team environment and solo with little supervision.
- Create and edit work instructions on the shop floor.
- Assist manufacturing with any production issues on the shop floor.
To thrive in this role, you have: - Associates Degree in related field.
- Math Skills required.
- Strong computer skills.
- Ability to work and adapt in a team environment.
- Good written and oral communication required.
- Ability to work overtime and flexible hours.
- Ability to use basic functions of Microsoft office
- At least 2 years of relavent Technician experience.
