Job Overview: Maintenance Technician I - 25400 Old Mill Road,Windsor,Virginia,23487The Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining a variety of mechanical and electrical manufacturing equipment, while meeting productivity requirements and maintaining KDP's high standards in safety and quality. -Shift & Schedule: This is a full time position working our 2-2-3 N2 (nights) -schedule (see details below for shifts we have open at this time). Flexibility to work overtime, weekends and holidays as scheduled is required. -6:00pm-6:15am -Week 1: Monday Tuesday Friday SaturdayWeek 2: Sunday Wednesday Thursday - -What you will do: - - - Maintain a safe and healthy environment, demonstrating safe behaviors at all times.
- Focus on Good Manufacturing and Food Safety practices in all work.
- Analyze mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic or electrical problems and make repairs through adjustments, defective parts replacement, or fabrication.
- Wire moderately complex control circuits.
- Teach basic mechanical skills to line operators to support autonomous maintenance, TPM functions, equipment set-up and centerlining.
- Fabricate, repair, and install hangers and all types of piping including hot/cold water, steam, process and condensate, utilizing formulas for all phases.
- Ability to quickly learn to weld and machine metals, plastics, and composites.
- Fabricate or replicate minor pieces for the repair or replacement of parts on equipment.
- Complete size changeovers and troubleshoot liquid fillers and packaging equipment.
- Identify root causes of mechanical, electrical and control failures and resolve with effective problem-solving tools with minimal downtime or supervision.
- Troubleshoot and program minor changes in Allen Bradley PLC (SLC500, MicroLogix, CompactLogix and ControlLogix).
- Generate productivity and continuous improvement ideas.

Requirements: - 1-year maintenance experience preferably in a manufacturing environment or equivalent education.
- Working knowledge of electrical, electronic controls, pneumatics, mechanical, and tooling.
- Advanced mechanical /electrical skills (PLC troubleshooting and Robotics skills) are a bonus
- Self-motivated team player with the ability and willingness to make decisions, effectively communicate, problem solve and teach others.
- Lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to frequently walk, kneel, squat, climb, bend, stoop, and twist.
- Ability to work in a variety of temperature and humidity conditions.
- Completion of Industrial Maintenance degree or certificate Preferred.
