Chemours is seeking an Experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our growing Jesup Mining team! This position will report directly to the Production Shift Supervisor in our Jesup, GA location. Responsible for operating heavy mobile equipment of various sizes and weights for mining and mineral processing facilities operating 24 hours per day, 7 days per week such as bulldozers and excavators in support of active mining operations. This earth-moving position will work collaboratively with a team of 8 to 10 operators, under the direction of the Production Shift Supervisor, focused on the safe and efficient delivery of raw ore to mine processing facilities and management of sand tails. The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following: - Ensure all work is performed within company, state, and federal regulations, standards, statutes, policies, and procedures.
- Safely and efficiently operates various pieces of mobile heavy equipment including bulldozers and tracked excavators.
- Act as a Safety Leader to ensure individual and team Safety remains a top priority in the planning and execution of all tasks.
- Receive and execute written or oral instructions regarding material movement or excavation.
- Ensure the operation of equipment is within machine capabilities and limitations.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with other team members.
- Work closely with Company Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) personnel targeting zero incidents and continuous improvement of mine site EHS performance.
- Continuous improvement in mining approach, encourages initiatives intended to reduce safety risk, increase productivity, improve efficiency, and reduce operating cost.
- Clean heavy equipment as scheduled and ensure a high standard of housekeeping is maintained in all assigned work areas.
- Maintain knowledge of safe work practices and procedures. Attend meetings and classes as identified by Chemours.
The following is required for this role: - HS Diploma or GED
- 1+ years of experience operating heavy mobile equipment including tracked excavators, wheeled loaders, track-type tractors (bulldozers), motor graders, and skid steers OR completing the Chemours Apprentice Program
- Valid Drivers' license with a Clean Driving Record
- Ability to work a rotating schedule and/or varying shifts and must be punctual in adhering to established start times; attendance at work is an essential function to the performance of this position.
- Ability to work any shift, holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed.
