Hiring Company: Boar's Head Provisions Co., Inc.Overview:Through a structured training program, the Department Manager Trainee will learn all aspects of the production, receving, shipping, systems and people aspects of the business. Throughout the training process, the Department Manager Trainee will cover various shifts and/or departments and will be increasingly responsible for directing and covering the activities of the plant to include meat manufacturing, sanitation and receiving (but not limited to) by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates. Oversees the off shift support groups such as maintenance, distribution, etc.Job Description:Responsibilities:Assist in the daily operations of departments and/or shift manufacturing operations for the plant.Build and maintain an effective supervisory team.Exercises good leadership and communication skills.Ensure effective production teams and team building.Ensure all production requirements are met.Analyze operations on a continual basis to improve costs, quality, and service.Actively participate in the research, justification, and implementation of long-range planning of the facility.Actively participate/support in department management functions that include the following: Production Scheduling, Purchasing, Shipping and Receiving, Area Sanitation, Heat Processing, Product Chilling, and other duties as assigned by the Assistant Plant Manager.Assist Department Management in the training and development of all employees in their area of responsibility, specifically Supervisors and Lead Persons.Ensure all sanitary, quality, and consistency requirements are met in the area of responsibility.Participate in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Total Quality Management (TQM) process.Direct and enforce the Safety Program in the area of responsibility.Ensure required preventive maintenance is being performed on all department equipment.Ensure all rules, policies, and regulations of the Company are enforced.Represent the off shifts in the staff meeting on a daily basis.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or knowledge equivalent to such degree is required.Five (5) to seven (7) years related industry experience required, preferably in food plant sanitation, smokehouse operations and meat-processing production.Exposure to and/or experience in Quality Assurance, Total Quality Management (TQM), Hazard Analysis Control Critical Process (HACCP) and Safety are a plus.College education preferred.English/Spanish bilingual would be a plus.Location:New Castle, INTime Type:Full timeDepartment:Plant Management More...
