DescriptionSummary: Working under the supervision of a nurse, the Certified Nurse Assistant I administers patient care and related activities, services and/or procedures to promote the physical and emotional health and personal comfort needs for assigned patients. - Duties and responsibilities include: taking and recording vital signs, changing bed linens, transporting patients, assisting patients in ambulating, delivering food trays, general cleaning and supply distribution, and providing activities for daily living to include bathing, dressing, feeding and assisting with personal hygiene. This position may include other duties as assigned. CHRISTUS Spohn Shoreline houses the region's only Level II Trauma Center. The Shoreline Med/Surg Trauma Stepdown is an ICU overflow unit. Our patient population includes downgraded traumas including motor vehicle or bicycle crashes, industrial accident falls, pedestrian-vehicle accidents, gunshot and stab wounds, traumatic brain injuries, chest/abdominal, orthopedic and spinal cord injuries. We also treat patients on non-titrated cardiac drips. Our nurses are BLS and ACLS certified and are in the process of obtaining TNCC. The patient /nurse ratio averages around 5:1. Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent. Strong customer service skills and computer literacy is required. Previous experience as a Nurse Assistant in a hospital setting preferred.Current Texas CNA CertificationPR (American Heart Association)If Associate has graduated from an accredited nursing program (RN) the certification is waived for the first seven months.
