In 2020, Sounds critical care team cared for over 115,000 ICU patients across the nation, a number that continues to grow year after year. We welcome your valuable skills and experience adding to our strengths while creating new partnerships.This Medical Assistant will work on a team supporting 6 Providers, along with 3 other Medical Assistants, in a fast-paced Pulmonary Clinic. The Medical Assistant, Critical Care provides local support to improve the efficiency of operations for the Pulmonary and Critical Care programs, by providing administrative and clinical services by perfecting processes. This position will work Monday through Friday, 7:30AM-4:30PM.The Details:In this role, you will be responsible for:Patient care: including vital signs, medication updates, spirometry, phlebotomy, injections, O2 recertifications, and other testing as necessaryGreeting patients and updating patient medical recordsScheduling appointmentsAssisting in facilitating positive relationships among physicians, office staff and patientsCompleting insurance forms and other correspondenceArranging for hospital admissions and laboratory servicesCompleting patient medical historiesAssisting with scheduling tests and treatmentPreparing, cleaning and maintaining exam and treatment roomsPreparing patients for examination, and assisting the physician during examsInstructing patients on medications and special dietary instructionsProviding verbal or faxed prescriptionsAdministering medications as directed by physicianMaking prior authorization callsManaging prescription and pharmacy callsOther duties as assigned.What we are looking for:A successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of a combination of these values, knowledge, and experience:Values:Self-Motivated: Proactively jumps in to start a task or project with limited direction; asks to take on more responsibility and what is nextCommunication: The ability to speak, write, and listen clearly and consistentlyRelationship Building and Maintenance: The ability to create and nourish healthy, strong relationships, as the face of SoundTeamwork: Demonstrates the ability to pull people together into highly effective teams along with ability to work in a highly matrixed organizationCritical Thinking: Demonstrates the ability to be proactive, anticipate needs; ability to make good decisions with incomplete, ambiguous informationMotivated: Demonstrates the ability to succeed and get things done at a high level of achievementStrategic Thinking: Demonstrates the ability to look at the big picture and proactively develop a plan of actionResourceful: Demonstrates proactive willingness to utilize available information and tools to figure things outKnowledge:High School DiplomaMA certificationKnowledge of medical terminologyExperience:1-2 years in healthcare industry (hospital, physician practice or insurance)Electronic Medical Records experiencePay Range: $18-$21.
