Location:Medical Center - Fort WorthDepartment:PharmacyShift:Varying Shifts (United States of America)Standard Weekly Hours:20Summary:To assist pharmacist in providing professional pharmacy services to the patients and staff of Cook Childrens Medical Center and the community we serve. Clerical tasks will encompass answering phones, recording, filing, and reporting pharmacy activities and services. The technical tasks will be performed after experience is gained, and necessary skills and competency demonstrated. Documentation of training must be on file prior to working independently. All tasks will be performed under the direct supervision of an experienced pharmacist. Must be competent in following pharmacy production areas: Central PO area, Advanced Omnicell processing, advanced non-sterile compounding, and compliance audits. Must also be competent in advanced sterile preparation (including but not limited to specialized training in TPNs or Chemotherapy), and/or must be trained and working in a specialized area such as pharmacy satellites, TPN, Chemotherapy, etc.This position is a mixed staffing position for ED Satellite services and Central Pharmacy. The technician in the ED assists the pharmacist at bedside for critically ill patients and prepares code medications in addition to operational duties such as inventory management, sterile and nonsterile compounding, and monthly audits. Shifts will primarily be days with rotating weekends and holidays. Some evening shifts are expected. Qualifications:

• A basic knowledge of math, the metric system, pharmaceutical chemistry, and medical terminology is essential.
• A general knowledge of office procedures such as filling and record keeping is essential.
• Good telephone skills and good oral communication skills are essential.
• Must have worked a minimum of 1 year in CCMC pharmacy and gained knowledge in advanced areas or must have pharmacy experience with one year of hands on IV preparation experience.
• High School or Equivalent Required
• Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) OR enrolled in ACPE accredited school of pharmacy.
• Texas State Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration OR Texas Pharmacy Intern License.
