We are seeking an experienced Electrical Controls Engineer to join our client's team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing control systems, particularly in hazardous area environments, with a focus on BOP (Blowout Preventer) control systems. This role involves designing, planning, and overseeing the development of components, systems, and machinery used in BOP control systems. Key Responsibilities: Research, develop, and design electronic interface circuitry applications for controlling products. Lead a team of designers in developing electrical, schematic, interconnect, cabling, and assembly drawings. Ensure comprehensive definition of equipment scope and content during initial design processes. Develop control applications, instruments, and systems for various commercial, domestic, and industrial uses. Direct activities to ensure manufacturing, construction, installation, and testing adhere to functional specifications and customer requirements. Coordinate design projects to optimize engineering expertise utilization. Provide leadership in project preparation, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget. Establish design criteria for projects in compliance with required codes and standards. Review contractual content to ensure technical and regulatory compliance. Document and transmit design changes as required to internal and external stakeholders. Assist sales group in defining engineering parameters for quotations. Collaborate with customers (internal/external) to understand project requirements. Engineer components/assemblies for BOP control systems in accordance with contracts and applicable standards. Participate in design reviews, providing technical input and recommendations. Offer technical support to manufacturing and testing teams. Review and approve engineering documentation. Perform other work-related tasks as assigned. Comply with all company and HSE (Health, Safety, Environment) policies and procedures. Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required. 5 or more years of experience in designing control systems. Knowledge of hazardous area standards such as ATEX, IECEx, and NEC preferred. Familiarity with ABS, DNVGL, and API standards related to BOP control systems preferred.
