Job Summary

We are searching for a Pharmacy Technician - someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will assist the pharmacist with clinical and audit operations at the health plan. This includes calling providers offices or pharmacies, completing data analysis upon request, completing scheduled audits and tracking results, and other miscellaneous scheduled tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assists the pharmacist with conducting vendor oversight and internal process control activities.
• Conducts comprehensive reviews, documents results, and updates dashboard(s).
• Generates required reports. Assists Pharmacist with creating new reports as needed.
• Identifies trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Assists Pharmacist with implementing new processes, documenting policies, procedures, and guides.
• Assists with clinical activities, implementing projects, and preparing presentations
• Assists Pharmacist with creating written materials, training contents, and other items.
• Reviews claims data for potential fraud/waste/abuse. Provides recommendation to Pharmacist.
• Coordinates with Special Investigations Unit (SIU) teams and conducts preliminary analysis. Provides recommendations to the Pharmacist.
• Track metrics and report to leadership team. Identify opportunities for improvement.
• Understands legal limitations of technicians when performing duties and refers situations requiring professional judgment to a pharmacist.
• Checks all available means of communication including e-mail and mailbox every shift.
• Answers the phone within department standards and limits personal phone calls so as to not interfere with patient care or operations.
• Maintain patient confidentiality as documented by lack of complaints and peer review.
• Completes mandatory training requirements by deadline.
• Demonstrates initiative when opportunities are presented as evidenced by successful completion of projects. Qualifications
  • Being Fully Vaccinated Against COVID-19, Including Any Booster Dose(s) Of The COVID-19 Vaccine Recommended By The Centers For Disease Control When Eligible, Is Required For All Employees At Texas Children's Unless Approved For A Medical Or Religious Exemption.
  • RPHT - Reg Pharmacy Technician - TX State Board Of Pharmacy Required
  • CPHT - Cert-pharm. TECH Certification Pharmacy Technician Certification Board Preferred
  • 1 Year Experience In Health Plan, PBM Or Other Managed Care Setting Preferred
  • 1 Year Experience With Data Analytics, And Familiarity With Microsoft Office Preferred
