By embracing the unique talents, perspectives, and experiences of our employees, we cultivate an environment that embraces teamwork, encourages open dialogue, and provides opportunities for growth.About the roleThe Fleet/Diesel Mechanic will diagnose, adjust, repair, or overhaul mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment such as diesel trucks, trailers, tankers and etc in support of the Facility's overall operations.Duties include: - Schedule maintenance for fleet and heavy equipment and maintain service records.
- Repair and replace damaged or worn parts to paccar engines, braking system, fuel system, power train, electrical system and hydraulic system.
- Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications.
- Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Overhaul and test equipment to ensure operating efficiency.
- Repair, rewire, and troubleshoot electrical systems.
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs, using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices.
- Examine parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges.
- Weld or solder broken parts and structural members, using electric or gas welders and soldering tools.
- Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on all facility vehicles to ensure that equipment and vehicles operate efficiently and safely.
- Fabricate needed parts or items from sheet metal.Shift:Typically Monday through Friday day shift (6a to 4p) Monday through Friday and occasional SaturdaysREQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma or equivalent required if less than 5 years verifiable related work experience.
- Diesel trade school certificate
- Current valid CDL Class A license is a plus.
- Previous experience as a mobile diesel mechanic
- Experience with Paccar engines, hydraulic and electrical maintenance on trucks and trailers
- Welding/fabricating a plusPhysical Requirements:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, and reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
