Early Childhood Center JOB DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this position is to gain knowledge and experience in a developmentally appropriate environment by working under the supervision of the Classroom Teacher.
QUALIFICATIONS
A. MUST be the legal guardian of an ACTIVE student enrolled in KISD HEADSTART PROGRAM.
B. Certification / Education Current CPR and First Aid, and CPI or willing to obtain C. Special Knowledge and Skills
1. A desire to work with preschool children
2. Good interpersonal skills
3. A desire to improve skills in an effort to obtain a permanent position
4. Bilingual in Spanish and English, preferred
EXPERIENCE
Preferred experience working with children.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Job Responsibilities and Duties: Assists in supervising children throughout the day and during outdoor play Assists in mealtime (including pickup and delivery of meals from cafeteria, participation in family style meals, etc.), and personal hygiene/grooming activities Keep teachers/classroom aides informed of any special needs or problems Assists in maintaining a neat, clean and orderly center Ensures confidentiality of program records and office communications Performs daily playground checks Complies with all verbal and written directives Displays tolerance necessary for accepting supervision for duty performance, both positive and negative Works in harmony and cooperation with supervisory, faculty and peer personnel Supports administrative policy Complies with all federal, state, district and campus policies, operating procedures and legal requirements Represents Kerrville ISD to the community in a positive professional way Represents the Head Start program to the district and the community in a positive professional way Performs other duties as assigned

SALARY
The salary for the above position will be based on the paraprofessional salary schedule currently in effect by Board Policy and Administrative Regulations.
