The APCs are primary on the Continue Care patients. They will assist with procedures for the entire group during the day. The critical care group has averaged 52 patients per day on their service, with the winter months usually far exceeding the summer months (60+ patients in the winter). APCs also field cross-coverage phone calls from nurses for the service. This allows the physicians to round, attend IDRs, and admit/discharge in timely manner.
