Serves on committees and task forces as scheduled and serves as a primary advisor for two MSC committees.What you need to knowSalary: $43,000.00-$45,000/Annual (commensurate based on hire's experience).Cover Letter/Resume: A cover letter and resume are strongly recommended. Some travel within the state of Texas is required for assigned committees.Required Education and Experience:Bachelors degreeOne year of experience in student affairs work or related specialty with a Bachelors degreeNo experience is required with a Masters degreeRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with othersPreferred Qualifications:Masters degree in student affairs, counseling, or related fieldRelated extra-curricular experience and/or student development experiencesProgram planning experience and experience working with studentsKnowledge of student development theoryEssential Duties/Tasks:Advisement of Assigned Committees - MSC Aggie Leaders of Tomorrow and MSC Spencer Leadership Conference.Student Connection & Engagement - Provides advising, coaching, leadership development, and training to assigned student committee(s)and their leadership team(s). Supports membership recruitment, retention, and the overall sustainability of the student committee. Meets routinely with committee chairperson(s), executive members, and/or committee members.Student Competency/Skill Development - Educates students to fulfill their responsibilities in program conceptualization, promotion, production, evaluation, interpersonal and leadership skill development, goal setting, and decision making. Reviews marketing and advertising plans with students. Supports the contract review and execution process related to speakers, facilities, services, and other aspects in the production of committee programs and events.Campus and Community Collaboration - Serves as a liaison to develop cross-campus and community-wide partnerships and collaborations with the student group.Budgeting & Development - Monitors financial development, budget planning, and fundraising efforts for the committees.Travel Expectations - Travels with students 2 to 3 times per year for organizational business. This includes overnight and out of town retreats and conferences.Administration - Actively contributes to MSC departmental and Division of Student Affairs meetings. Submits monthly reports and year-end evaluations and maintains comprehensive files and records. May be called upon to serve on various MSC Department and/or Division of Student Affairs programs and/or University task forces that relate to issues concerning students. May attend or present at local/regional conferences and campus student organization meetings. Adheres to University policy and procedures.
