W. Frierson Contractor, Inc. needs mechanics who can do preventive maintenance, diagnostics, repair and service of construction equipment and motor vehicles both in shop (60% of time) and on construction project sites (40% of time). Delivery of equipment and construction materials and supplies is also part of the job. Very little overtime and shop is located in Nashville, TN. Position RequirementsKnowledge, Experience & Competencies: - Minimum of a High school diploma or GED
- Valid state-issued driver's license with good driving record - Class A CDL with current DOT medical card a plus
- 5-10 years of work experience as a mechanic and detailed knowledge and previous experience working on internal combustion engines (gas and diesel), DC electrical systems, propane systems, hydraulics, and track and aerial equipment
- Understanding of basic welding techniques
- Ability to operate all types of construction equipment and vehicles
- Ability to work Monday through Friday, at least eight hours per day, five days per week between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.Travel Requirements:
