Job Description Qualifications:
Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is currently seeking a Team Lead (Level C) to join the Gear Assembly Team in North Charleston, South Carolina on 1st Shift!
In this role the selected candidate will perform complex production assembly operations on structural parts, mechanical assemblies, subassemblies and aircraft systems, equipment and accessories using manual or automated assembly tools. The Team Lead will be responsible for, but not limited to, performing tasks in the following areas; pre-shift planning, crew meetings, team status updates, labor loss, production control, training, process improvement and Lean/BPS. The GEAR team is a fast paced and highly skilled team performing work that is critical to our internal and external customers. Team day to day activities include Landing Gear Component installations and Customer acceptance shakes.
Position Responsibilities:
- Performs complex production assembly operations on structural parts, mechanical assemblies, subassemblies and aircraft systems, equipment and accessories using manual or automated assembly tools.
- Builds effective resource plans.
- Identifies and communicates risks to First Line Leader.
- Updates and communicates BPS metrics. Identifies KPI improvement actions.
- Assigns daily work.
- Leads team in daily safety check-in.
- Monitors and reports daily progress to plan.
- Works with support organizations and First Line Leader to mitigate performance risk.
- Documents and communicates shift turnover.
- Establishes overtime requirements and staffing.
- Responsible for monitor and control of 5S.
- Utilizes Rapid Problem Solving (RPS) and coordinates with Line Side Control Center (LSCC) to address issues.
- Creates standardized work instructions.
- Supports teammates to improve their job performance including identifying training.
- Responsible for BPS process improvements.
- Leads Kamishibai audits and Gemba walks.
- Must maintain all necessary certifications to perform the job.
- Exhibits Boeing Behaviors. This position is expected to be 100% onsite.The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience): - 1+ years of experience with the operations process involving the 787-airplane program.
- 1+ years of experience in a team environment.
- 1+ years of experience in aerospace, fabrication, or manufacturing.
- 1+ years of experience in advising and influencing others to meet quality and safety requirements or resolve technical or operational problems.
- 1+ years of experience in a role utilizing business acumen and understanding.
- Ability to work in confined space. Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 1+ years of Formal or Informal Team Lead Experience.
- Experience with structures, systems, and electrical, TMC, COGNOS, Velocity, Redars - EID.
- Ability to operate scissor lifts, JLG, manlifts and forklifts.
- Prior experience performing structures and systems installation. Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+2 years' related work, Bachelor, etc.).

Summary pay range: $59,220 - $60,480.
