Join our growing Distribution team today.Responsible for the prompt minor repair and ongoing maintenance of ongoing preventative maintenance of material handling equipment.Provide recommendations to repair or replace poorly functioningequipmentEfficiently prioritizes repair schedule to ensure an uninterruptedproduction scheduleTroubleshoot equipment problems to include brake, electrical andhydraulic systems, detect imperfections, potential problems, safetyissues and/or malfunctions.Provide improvements required to ensure compliance to safetyregulations to DC and safety teamEnsure that department is appropriately stocked with part and toolsneeded to perform their jobUndertakes actions such as lubrication, cleaning, filter changes, etc, onequipment for preventive maintenance purposesReplace broken or defective parts from stock parts and/or orderreplacement parts for major repairsModifies and tests equipment to improve systems uptime andreliabilityUpdates and reviews daily maintenance logsEducation/ Certifications/or Equivalent combination of education training and experience:2-3 years of technical maintenance or related experience/training; or equivalent combination of education, experience and training1-2 years of on-the-job experience with electronics and mechanical equipmentMachining and fabrication experience helpfulKnowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:Oral and written communication skills to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. It is also required for writing routine reports and correspondenceAbility to solve practical problems and handle a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization existsClearly communicate with other employees and build relationships with employees, supervisors/managers, customers, as well as outside contractorsExcellent mechanical aptitudeAbility to work well independentlyPHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT/ DEMANDS:Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently.Exposed to temperatures ranging from -20 degrees below zero to 35 degrees Fahrenheit in Perishable Operation and 37 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Grocery OperationAbility to do repetitious arm, wrist and hand movements required for maintenance and service procedures.Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment.Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties.
