Title: Mapping Coordinator (GIS Applications)Location: Providence RI 02907Duration: 5 months Contract Must be able to work between 7-5pm, M-F, In-office, 30 min. lunch. Maps & Records Coordinator shall support Mapping Supervisor overseeing Mapping personnel involved in the collection and input of mapping data into Client GIS Applications to ensure safety and to achieve Line of Sight goals Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

• Assist Supervisor of Mapping with training, monitoring, developing personnel, as well as other variedassigned duties in the Maps and Records department as required.
  • Review, approve and post maps and records projects
  • Responsible for updating and maintaining the backlog databases daily into Client GISapplications to ensure timely delivery of information and safe operation of public gas facilities whilemeeting regulatory requirements and maximizing cost recovery returns.
    • Generate and update various reports as required to monitor performance against Line of Sightdeliverables which include Safety, KPI s & Compliance metrics.
      • Maintain Record Retention database & prepare and process Maps & Records Historical documents aswell as others for storage as required by Client policy.
        • Assist Supervisor of Mapping in Performance Excellence. Ensuring the Department is meeting requisitegoals, identifying concerns and causes of deficiencies, and recommending and implementingimprovement opportunities in Maps & Records.
          • Assist in the design and development of quality assurance/quality system practices and procedures inupstream gas Work order processes to drive improvement on cycle time deliverables. Position RequirementsKnowledge & Experience Required:
            • Associate degree in an Engineering discipline OR in lieu of a degree, equivalent work experiencerequired.
              • Preferred: Ability and experience to supervise in an Automated Mapping/GIS environment.
              • Desired: 5 years experience in Mapping, Engineering, or Geographic Information Systems (GIS), in asupervisory or drafting capacity.
                • Demonstrated supervisory skills necessary to direct, motivate, instruct and develop bargaining unitpersonnel in the operation and maintenance of electronic and manual mapping and information systems.
                  • Knowledge and understanding of the varied Company electronic and manual mapping and record systemsas well as knowledge of map symbols, practices and standards.
                    • Knowledge of federal, state and municipal codes and regulations and company standards and policy.
