Regal Rexnord is looking for a passionate New Product Development (NPD) Engineer to join our R&D Team. This position will play a key role in Portescap's Slotted Brushless DC motor product line. These products are used in surgical hand tools and surgical robotics systems, as well as in aerospace and in other industrial applications. The NPD Engineer is tasked with leading the manufacturing process development to successfully transition prototype motor designs to final production. This includes direct support during prototype builds, partnering with R&D design engineers to assess manufacturability and make necessary changes to be successful on the production floor. The NPD will be responsible for developing the process flow and documentation of standard work, as well as leading the design & validation of new product tooling, fixtures, and equipment.Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Work closely with R&D during prototype phases to understand design concept and provide input on build process
- Participate in prototype builds to identify and countermeasure observed challenges
- Develop the manufacturing process for new brushless DC motor products
- Work closely with assembly personnel in the development of production procedures
- Create training material and conduct training / coaching sessions for assembly personnel
- Collect, organize, and analyze data and operator feedback to identify and address build issues
- Create and execute validation plans based on customer requirements and project needs
- Support manufacturing ramp-up through troubleshooting and effective problem-solving
- Drive yield and manufacturability improvements while maintaining quality and safety standards
- Facilitate action plans and execute critical actions on time and with high quality

- Understanding of electromechanical test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, dynamometers)
- Familiarity with various manufacturing equipment and processes (laser welding, transfer molding, lathe machine, milling machine, CNC)
- Familiarity with inspection and measurement tools (CMM, Caliper, Micrometer, Gages)
- Familiarity with CAD modeling, tooling design, and 3D printing
- Familiarity with documentation and process controlQualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Mechanical / Industrial Engineering or related field
- 3+ years manufacturing experience
- A strong understanding of quality systems and other process improvement tools
- Experience with transfer molding or laser welding is a plus
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing / Problem Solving tools is preferred
- Experience with QS and ISO requirements is preferredBenefits
