is seeking a IPT / Project 5 in Lenexa, KS. Job Responsibilities:
The project engineer is responsible for leading Oxygen and PSU (Passenger Service Unit) in sustaining related activities
They are responsible for identifying and deriving solutions to meet customer needs
Responsible for creating and maintaining Development Plans related to sustaining activities throughout the course of the project until responsibility is handed over to production.They are responsible for the strategic and tactical execution of an entire program, overseeing all technical, schedule, and financial aspects
They are required to align with the Sustaining Program Chief and Sustaining Engineering Team to ensure all programs are properly resourced and provide guidance to the team to be sure proper engineering depth and strength are in place
Strong communication is critical, as well as the ability to interface with engineering program chiefs, program managers, and operations managers across all business areas within the company's aerospace
Project Engineer is responsible for internal technical project reviews to report status and understand and manage expectations.The candidate we are seeking is a strong, passionate leader with an action-oriented, collaborative mindset, who operates with a vision, motivates to meet/exceed expectations, coaches, builds, and enhances their team, evaluates, and acts on the performance of self and others, proactively plans for the team and customers' needs, all while operating with full integrity.Reports directly to OPSU Sustaining Program Chief, Sr
Manager Project Engineering.Lead programs to support sustaining.Responsible for teams executing sustaining projects for oxygen & PSU systems.Provides managerial review and control over multiple disciplines of engineering efforts including technology development.Directs activities of engineering or technical personnel involved in designing, fabricating, modifying, or testing products.Responsible for managing budget, schedule, and technical performance of projects of a subset of Operational Support (OSE), Field Support (FSE) and Product Improvement (PIN/PI).Participate in customer-facing meetings for multiple customers.Participate in product safety board. Basic Qualifications:
Requires a degree and a minimum of 5 years prior relevant experience.Bachelors degree.Minimum of 5 years related experience.Aerospace and/or Mechanical experience preferred. Preferred Qualifications:
Exceptional organizational, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.Direct technical leadership experience.Experience with change management process for new production and field implementation.Experience leading and mentoring team in fundamentals of engineering, product design, RCCA, and processes and procedures.Strong business acumen to support setting business and department priorities.Experience with MS Project.Experience with MS Office Suite.
