We seek a teacher-scholar with a Ph.D. degree in International Relations, Environmental Studies, International Development, Sociology, Anthropology, Geography, or other relevant discipline by the start of the appointment. Candidates in the final stages of completing their degree requirements, with a defense date by July 2024 will be considered, but degree must be granted within the candidate's first year of employment in this role in order to continue employment at Bucknell. Job Duties: The Department of International Relations at Bucknell University invites applications for a two-year visiting assistant professor position to begin in August 2024. We welcome candidates who demonstrate excellence in reflective multicultural and inclusive teaching practices and who display a strong commitment to collaboration and interdisciplinarity. We are seeking a candidate whose teaching and research are in human security and global governance with expertise including some, among others, of the following: international peace and conflict resolution, disaster management, peacebuilding, economic security, environmental security, food security, humanitarian assistance and relief, and nongovernmental organizations. The selected candidate should be able to teach our courses on human security and global governance, as well as a set of electives. They may also be asked to teach a first-year introductory course for the major. The successful candidate will teach six courses per year.
