Position Purpose Community Action Program's (CAP) mission community, driving action, and building partnership to eliminate poverty. Using a Person & Family- Centered Approach and best practice in data management, the Data Specialist ensures that CAP is reporting accurate and complete data and communicating program outcomes to the team, funders, customers, and community stakeholders. They coach staff to align with and achieve this goal, and champion the Two Generation (2Gen) approach and importance of integrated adult and child outcomes. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Compliance and Data Management - Generate timely and accurate data and reports for monthly, quarterly, and annual reports due to funders.
- Work with leadership to ensure compliance with community, state and federal grant requirements.
- Ensure current projects meet designated outcomes with high quality. Collaboration and Teamwork
- Connect with programs to ensure accurate data is being collected according to each owns guidelines/ regulations.
- Lead or collaborate on program research initiatives to help inform the building of new initiatives, or refinement of current initiatives.
- Provide assistance in navigating any obstacles to data management and attaining desired outcomes. Continuous Quality and Performance Improvement
- In collaboration with leadership, analyze data from current projects and strategies next steps for best impact on the community.
- Perform quality control checks/ audits on client and program data for Teen Elect, CSBG, 2Gen, and other grants as needed.
- Support leadership and programs to establish & measure output goals and measurable program outcome aligned with Teen Elect, CSBG, 2GEN, approach and other grant requirements. Planning & Organizing
- Develop and maintain the necessary systems, processes, and tools to support internal and external goals and standards.
- Develop accountability mechanisms across data platforms and the team. Flexibility & Achieving Change
- Coach Staff to structure their work toward being outcomes focused.
- Adapt to shifting priorities in response to the needs of internal and external clients. Qualifications & Job Factors
- Bachelor's degree in related filed to data, social work, sociology, human services, project administration & management, or a related field, AND/OR education and experience.
- 2-4 years' experience with Microsoft Office programs, including strong proficiency in Excel.
- Experience working with low-income families and community services, preferred. ***Please see attached for full description***
