Position Summary Just 65 miles from Center City Philadelphia, Allentown is near many major Northeastern U.S. cities, which makes it an ideal location for manufacturing and distributing consumer goods. We utilize thermal processing and high-speed canning to produce varieties of our Friskies -, Beneful - and Pro Plan - brands-product lines we have carefully produced, packaged, and shipped since 1958. As a Maintenance Mechanic you will gain a basic working knowledge of all equipment necessary for Plant Operation. This includes (but not limited to) lubrication, preventive maintenance (PM's), repairs, and modifications. In this role you will perform basic mechanical maintenance as directed, safely and efficiently. - This role will be required to work 6pm-6am.
- Have the ability to perform basic mechanical work related to the installation or repair of equipment in use in the Wet Plant operation.
- Perform lubrication, preventive maintenance, and repairs as specified by an approved work order or directed by the Maintenance Supervisor or Production Supervisor.
- Clean up materials, containers, applicators, shavings, etc. as part of each repair or project before going to the next assigned task. Maintain the sanitation housekeeping of the area and comply with good manufacturing practice requirements.
- Use prescribed protective safety equipment and perform all work in a safe manner following all established policies and procedures.
- Be able to read, follow, and interpret basic types of piping schematics as well as blueprints, illustrated part's breakdown, etc., essential to this plant.
- Be willing to participate in team building and problem-solving sessions to improve plant performance.
- Attend training sessions or utilize other methods to acquire knowledge of various plant equipment or systems.
- Be able to replace bearing, seals, shafts, drive components (e.g., sheaves, sprockets, chain, belts, etc.) throughout the Wet Plant.
- Obtain and maintain a company forklift operator's license.
- Utilize PdM (Predictive Maintenance) tools such as handheld vibration analyzer, sonic tester, laser aligner, and a thermal imager to detect and diagnose equipment issues.
- Utilizes personal computers to perform job tasks associated with GLOBE, Excel, Word, Outlook, and the current Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
