Class C MechanicLocation - York, PennsylvaniaSalary:Start at $23.00/hr (plus shift differential of $.25/hr on 2nd shift or $.35/hr on 3rd shift) with room to grow.$475 tool allowance annuallyOverview:Rabbittransit is a Pennsylvania regional public transportation provider, offering a variety of transportation services to the residents of Adams, Columbia, Cumberland, Franklin, Montour, Northumberland, Perry, Snyder, Union and York Counties. As a Mechanic you will perform basic mechanical tasks in the diagnosis of malfunctions, preventative maintenance, state inspections and repairs on all Authority owned vehicles. This position receives guidance, performs duties under supervision of the Specialist, Class A, and 1st Class Mechanics, or Manager and works within general guidelines.Job Summary:The position is critical in assisting Rabbittransit in meeting our mission of mobility. Basis of classification will be on panel interview and skills testing.Responsibilities: - Performs general servicing, preventative maintenance, basic diagnosing and troubleshooting, and performs both minor and major repairs to maintain all fleet vehicles in good working order.
- Works along with other mechanics in major repairs and overhauls.
- Also performs state safety inspections as required by Penn DOT and ensures CPTA is in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Receives complaints and requests for equipment service and makes evaluations; makes road calls to service disabled vehicles, as directed by management.
- The mechanic is responsible for maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
- Completes all necessary record-keeping and report preparation.
- The mechanic is responsible for meeting all attendance requirements according to bid, CBA, policy, and safety emergency response situations.Qualifications:
