AAA Oregon/Idaho is looking for an experienced Mechanic to join our automotive services team in Tualatin!Are you looking for a role where your expertise is valued and your employer will invest in your ongoing education to become a Master ASE Technician? Come join our team!Our Mechanic is responsible for the advanced service and/or repair of motor vehicles (including diesel vehicles). They will help our fleet stay on the road by completing inspections, diagnostics, performing maintenance requirements, correcting vehicle deficiencies, and making adjustments and alignments. Employees must supply their own tools to be used in a well-equipped, temperature-controlled shop. Continued education, safety and maintenance training or recertification are supported through individual development plans.Hours/Location: Monday - Friday, 6:00 am to 4:00 pm. Based out of our Tualatin Fleet. Regular travel required to Portland Fleet, parts store, and various suppliers.Desired SkillsValid Drivers License and clean driving record required.High School Diploma or equivalent required.5+ years related automotive maintenance and repair experience required.Technical Training in Diesel/Medium-Heavy Trucks preferred.EPA Section 609 Technician Training and Certification (TT&C) - Air conditioning.Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Requirements or equivalent including dealership certification:Minimum of 4 successful ASE certifications (T1-T8) or equivalent (If not certified, you will be required to get certified within 1 year of hire): Diesel Engines, Drive Train, Brakes, Suspension & Steering, Electrical/Electronic Systems, Heating, Ventilation & Conditioning (HVAC).Experience as Medium-Heavy Truck Technician working with Cummins, MaxxForce, Allison, and Hino. Is preferred, including: Hydraulic systems, aftermarket system add-ons and chassis cab build outs.Clear and proficient verbal and written communication.Advanced diagnostic capabilities and ability to utilize scan tools and diagnostic equipment.Advanced knowledge of vehicle components and the common reasons for vehicle failure.Demonstrates problem solving and listening skills as well as the ability to discern safety issues and respond appropriately.Experience with computers and associated programs for maintenance tracking and inventory.Ability to provide outstanding customer service to internal team members and vendors.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Must be able to maintain professionalism at all times.Other position conditions and/or physical demands:Lifting and carrying equipment weighing up to 75 pounds.Balancing, bending and kneeling.Position requires physical ability to operate and drive various types of trucks with EV and automatic transmissions.Position is exposed to noise and changes in temperature.Physical attendance at the job site is an essential duty.For full details on the duties and requirements, see the attached job description.We offer competitive pay and time off programs, health, dental, disability/life insurance, up to 9% 401(k) total employer contribution, AAA membership, and more.
