Develops criteria to be used during vendor evaluation and selection. Identifies trends in organizational purchasing and identifies opportunities for cost reduction through purchase consolidation. Sets goals and identifies metrics measuring performance of purchasing processes. Negotiates complex or high-value vendor contracts. Leads and directs the work of other employees and has responsibility for coaching, development and managing employment actions. Collaborates cross-functionally to align departmental strategy or direction with the overall goals of the organization. Primarily responsible for strategic planning, direction, and goal setting for the department or function in alignment with organizational objectives. Responsible for shaping business strategy and aligning goals to achieve the company's objectives.Provide executive oversight of the purchasing departments project initiatives, monitoring progress against strategic objectives.Establishes departmental policies, practices, and procedures that have a significant impact on the organization's long-term success. Job Specifications:Bachelor's degree in business or a related field is required.15+ years progressive plant operations experience with at least 5 years in purchasingStrong leadership skills including the development and mentoring of others and ability to build collaborative relationships.Previous experience in food manufacturing Must have knowledge of MRP applications. Basic PC skills are required.Excellent oral and written communication skillsWorking Conditions1. Office environment.2.
