Curator of Exhibitions and Education - 3926Featured*Sulphur, OK - Culture and Humanities - Full Time*_Posted today - Apply before May 27, 2024_*Apply**Save*DescriptionWe are currently looking for a Full Time Curator of Exhibitions and Education to join our Default Commerce Org for Positions team located at the Chickasaw Cultural Center working 8:00AM-5:00PM - Mo Tu We Th Fr.*Summary:*The Curator of Exhibitions and Education will lead all aspects of curatorial work, as well as develop and implement educational programs surrounding exhibits and events with their team.*Responsibilities:** Provides first class customer service - courteous and helpful to all internal and external customer types* Greets and engages with a smile* Determines and meets needs* Seeks positive experience and outcomes* Answers questions in a courteous and professional manner* Partners with internal and external services as needed to ensure appropriate referral is made* Completes all training and development requirements and participates in continuing education opportunities* Works in a collaborative and supportive manner to support the productivity and safety of the work area, team members and customers of all types* Shares responsibilities for maintaining adequate supplies and equipment* Maintains general upkeep of work area and maintains a safe environment* Observes and addresses potential environmental hazards and risks* Maintains and promotes professionalism* Punctual and consistent in meeting start time, work schedule, attendance and other assigned work time metrics* Adheres to Chickasaw Nation dress code standards* May provide break coverage for others as assigned* May augment staff in other areas as needed based on staffing and needs ratio in regularly assigned unit* Maintain knowledge of and follow all laws, rules, regulations, policies and SOPs for assigned area, e.g. MICS, TICS, hospital standards, health codes, food sanitation, accounting principles, etc.* Plans and designs museum exhibits in cooperation with the Registrar, incorporating the museums collections as much as possible* Creates original exhibits, including developing concepts, designing setup, installing the exhibit, writing interpretive labels, and identifying and securing object loans* Seeks traveling exhibits that will align with the goals of the cultural center* Leads and coordinates exhibit installation, removal, and storage* Creates a two-year, advanced exhibit schedule* Manages all aspects of the changing schedule to ensure minimal downtime* Maintains current knowledge of the latest developments in exhibit design concepts, techniques, technology, innovations, etc* Understands exhibit concepts and works to develop and implement educational programming for both temporary and permanent exhibits* Ensures all exhibitions met or exceed CCC display standards* Coordinates with team members to ensure successful exhibition installations* Creates and implements educational outreach programs at local schools* Leads in the outreach of guest lectures and presentations at the cultural center* Develops educational opportunities in conjunction with the cultural centers special events throughout the year* Oversees exhibit supply inventory and ensures its safekeeping* Monitors temporary exhibits and makes certain they are maintained in accordance with lending foundation guidelines* Ensures temporary exhibit reports are submitted as requested by lending foundations* Submits AAM facility reports as requested by the Senior Visitor Service Manager, Director of Event Operations, and the Executive Officer* Assists the Museum Language Specialist in the development of language education and its usage at the cultural center* All other duties as assigned*Competencies:*Essential:* Follow instructions, written or oral* Adhere to all scheduling and attendance requirements* A long time and active learner of the Chickasaw Language* Honesty, truthfulness, reliability, accountability* Read, understand and apply regulations and policies* Knowledge of museum operations, exhibit creation* Knowledge and understanding of First American populations* Builds effective working relationships* Communicates verbally with team, departments, guests and management*Skills:*Essential:* Basic Computer skills*Experience:*Essential:* 2 years directly related experience*Education:*Essential:* Bachelors OtherNonessential:* Masters Degree in directly related field*Credentials:*Nonessential:* Pass general background check* Standard Driver's License*Working Conditions:*Essential:* Classroom* Museum setting* Mix of office/non-office settings* Pass pre-employment drug test* Sometimes bend, kneel, stoop, push, reach* Sometimes lift and or carry up to 50 lbs* Walk up to 25% of shift* Day shift* May work evening shift* May work flexible schedule* May work holidays* May work night shift* May work weekend shift#INDJob Type: Full-timeWork Location: In personby Jobble More...
