Job Function/PurposeThe Operations Compliance Analyst is responsible for monitoring, researching, and ensuring implementation of various local, state, federal, investor, and industry regulations, including CFPB. Analyst monitors adherence to servicing policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. The position provides compliance support and guidance as needed for all departments within the division including but not limited to system enhancements related to regulatory and compliance issues, compliance monitoring and measuring, implementation of new or updating of current compliance and regulatory policies and procedures, and assisting with regulatory audit examinations. This position will work closing with the training manager on creating, updating, and implementation of compliance and regulatory training. Position is responsible for special projects as assigned by management.Qualifications Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Business-related field or commensurate experience required. Minimum 3-year experience in a recent compliance, or audit, or retail loan servicing position required. Must possess sound knowledge of retail loan serving products and the servicing of (i.e mortgage loans, installment loans, lines of credit, escrow, default management, special loans, amortizations, etc.). Must be able to manage time efficiently, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and coordinate multiple and changing priorities in a demanding environment. Advanced problem-solving ability. Must be able to research independently and make sound decisions. Must have the ability to implement and monitor identified changes. Must have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to create cooperation regarding compliance attainment, particularly when the analyst identifies potential non-compliance or compliance issues within our areas. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be a self-starter that identifies new compliance requirements and departmental compliance-improvement opportunities and develops solutions through implementation. Must have intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel (testing will be administered). Overtime will be required, as needed Minimal travel is requiredPrincipal Activities/Objectives Proactively monitors, identifies, and implements new and/or updated regulatory requirements and establishes appropriate controls to monitor compliance. Monitors investor bulletins, mortgagee letters, and other publications for requirements related to retail loan servicing. Communicates applicable requirements to department managers and division senior management. Responsible for managing special projects as assigned by management, including a timetable for completion, and ensuring completion within allotted timeframes. Work with department management to identify and simplify methods to achieve compliance within departments through checklists, scripting, training, complete and organized procedures, and instructions. Responsible for release testing for areas of responsibility. Develops and maintains a regulatory and compliance monitoring calendar to ensure compliance topics are monitored on a regularly scheduled basis. Must include follow-up time schedule to ensure compliance of remedial or corrective action. Work with Training Manager to ensure compliance training is up-to-date and completed on a calendared basis for critical compliance topics. Audits departmental compliance and management controls. Develops specific audit checklists utilizing regulatory requirements. Reports findings to senior division management and departmental managers. Assists with regulatory audit examinations conducted by internal audit and external parties. Includes, but is not limited to, coordinating the collection of requested documentation, presentation of documentation, and communicating with the requesting parties as applicable. Responsible for complaint tracking records, scheduling management review meetings as necessary, and ensuring identified follow-up is completed and recorded.
