OverviewJob Title: Inventory Control SupervisorEssential FunctionThis job provides primary leadership to the inventory control department. The incumbent works with employees they lead. Provides knowledge and is a resource for quick answers. Provides clear directions to the group.Primary DutiesMonitors workflow and adjusts to changes by directing and guiding employees in assigned department.Keeps up-to-date with the progress of assigned department and any challenges that may arise.Responsible for daily workloads being completed.Continues to perform as an individual contributor completing advanced and complicated tasks requiring considerable judgment, independent analysis and decision making, and detailed knowledge of the position and procedures.May assist in training or retraining of new or current employees.Conducts self in a manner that portrays safety, productivity, and professionalism.Performs other duties as assigned or requested by management.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred.Requires 5 years of directly related experience or equivalent work experience.Must have a thorough working knowledge of all processes and policies relating to all duties performed in their assigned department(s).Working knowledge of currently utilized warehouse management software and equipment used in their department(s).Verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work in a fast paced environment with the capability to adjust to change and interruptions.Ability to work with limited supervision.If the assigned group requires the operation of lift trucks, Must be able to become certified through the Sally Beauty Lift Truck Training Program in order to efficiently and safely operate a forklift within the time frame specified by management.Competencies / AttributesMust be able to maintain neat and accurate records.Must be skilled in basic arithmetic and have ability to read and interpret orders, product description and/or numbers in the English language.Follows all procedures and policies.Ability to work with a diverse range of personalities.Ability to work in a fast paced environment with the capability to adjust to change and interruptions.Ability to work with limited supervision.Operates all lift equipment in a safe manner to ensure safety and protection of all personnel and company property.Nature and Extent of Direct or Indirect Controls Exercised by the SupervisorTask Level HighDepartmental/Division Level HighProject Level HighConsultative Level HighThe amount of discretion or freedom this position hasStrict Adherence to GuidelinesInterprets and Adapts GuidelinesDevelops and Implements GuidelinesWorking Conditions /Physical RequirementsRepetitively lift cartons weighing 10 to 55 pounds.Stand/Walk for 6 to 10 hours a day.Must be able to climb up and down stairs and ladders.See and read labels on products, product containers and packages.Must be able to work in temperatures ranging from 25 degrees Fahrenheit to 105 degrees Fahrenheit.May be exposed to fumes and odors upon occasion.Visual ability must have accurate depth perception.Must have adequate hearing to hear warnings from powered vehicles, emergency alarms and verbal announcements.by Jobble More...
