Veterinary TechnicianHealing Paws Veterinary Hospital is seeking a Full-Time Veterinary Technician that wants to grow with a full-service hospital. Healing Paws Veterinary Hospital believes that the meaningful connection between animals and humans adds value to life.Hospital HoursMon-Fri: 8:00 AM 6:00pmSaturday (every third): 8:00 AM 12:00 PMClosed SundaysVeterinary Technician duties:Client communicationTriaging patients including basic injury/illness assessment, gathering patient information, and taking vital signs.Performing diagnostic testing including radiographs and lab workAssisting with surgical procedures and patient monitoringAssisting in taking radiographsGiving IV & IM injectionsDispensing controlled drugsPlacing IV catheters and maintaining feeding tubes and urinary cathetersMonitor Surgical procedures.Lab DiagnosticsPerforms other related duties as assigned.Required Skills/AbilitiesAbility to work with or around sick animals, potentially hazardous materials, cleaning chemicals, gas anesthetics, and unpleasant odors.Ability to always communicate professionally and effectively and maintain professionalism in emotionally charged / challenging situations.Ability to provide high quality customer service.Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.Ability to work effectively with computers and electronics.Physical Requirements:Ability to lift patients with or without reasonable accommodations.Ability to stand for extended periods of time.Ability to lift, walk, bend, twist, reach, push and squat most of the workdayEducation and Experience:This position requires at least one year of veterinary experience as an assistant or technician.
